Dr. Derek Hoffman was born and raised in Ocala, Florida
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2002. After working for a few years, Dr. Hoffman decided to pursue a career in dentistry. He attended dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. During dental school, he was named a Hinman Scholar and was inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Hoffman received his orthodontic training at the University of Florida. At UF, he was trained in the latest orthodontic technologies, to include Invisalign, Propel, Acceledent, 3D imaging and scanning technologies, temporary anchorage devices (TAD’s) and passive self-ligation. This training helps Dr. Hoffman achieve excellent orthodontic results for his patients as quickly and comfortably as possible.
Dr. Hoffman and his wife, Susan have been married for almost twelve years
They have three children; Ellie, Miles and Charlie. When not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Hoffman enjoys surfing and golfing, but most of all he enjoys spending time with his family.
Together they enjoy hanging out by the pool, cooking pancakes, having movie night or the occasional trip to the beach or Disney World. Church and faith are also central to Dr. Hoffman who is an active member of Grace Anglican Church.
Dr. Hoffman is excited to be part of a dental team located in Nocatee providing excellent dental care in a fun, welcoming and compassionate environment.
